Listen: Jaytech – Multiverse [Album Review] 0

The summer’s starting to wind down but Above & Beyond’s warmup DJ of choice, Jaytech, is looking to extend the sunshine for as long as possible. His sophomore album Multiverse came out on Anjunabeats on August 13th after 3 years of studio work, and the countless days Jaytech spent expanding his musical horizons, seem to have paid off.
The 13-track album features tracks like “Rabbit Raiders”, which will make you want to take a drive in the drop top so you can throw your hands up and let the wind split through your fingers (unless you’re driving, in which case, hands on the wheel, psycho!). “Diode” will have you so lost in the rolling bass line, you won’t even realize you’ve been hypnotized until “Dr Device” is over and “Stranger” comes on. Steve Smith’s vocals will snap you back into reality in the best of ways. “Stranger” has that signature Anjuna sound – effortless vocals enveloped in lofty strings and piano rolls layered on top of a meaty yet subtle bass line. Multiverse comes to a close with two chill out tracks “Blue Ocean” and “Coda”, wrapping up an album that’s so diverse, it’ll undoubtedly take you out of your comfort zone and far off on a journey of self-discovery.
Jaytech’s ‘Multiverse’ is now out and can be purchased on iTunes | iTunes US | Anjunabeats.com.
