Back once again with a full length LP is Pretty Lights Music’s quickly rising star Michal Menert. His new album Even If It Isn’t Right is a stunning 27 tracks of futuristic vintage goodness. Michal Menert has created an absolute symphony of modern glitch hop blended with soulful and obscure samples that clocks out at over an hour and forty minutes.  In a scene where sampling is so common it’s refreshing to hear a collection of samples so “off the radar” that many of us are hearing them for the first time. It’s also refreshing to see an artist put forth such a ginormous collection of music in a single release.

Menert has taken a huge step since his 2010 release Dreaming of a Bigger Life. Not only are his songs exquisitely produced with bumpin’ bass lines, sharp kicks and smooth synths but each track on Even If It Isn’t Right transitions ingeniously and seamlessly into the next making it an excellent and easy album to lose yourself in. Michal Menert has clearly demonstrated that he deserves to be on the same platform as his ever popular counterparts, Gramatik and Pretty Lights, on Pretty Lights Music. And just in case you didn’t know, ALL of the music on Pretty Lights Music is available by donation. Unreal.
