Since 1995, the DJ-Kicks series has been one of the most important mix compilations in the game, and July’s entry will feature a hefty amount of all-new material from Digitalism, whose live sets have been tearing the roof off of festival after festival (trust me, I caught the live show at Ultra this year). To hype the release of the new mix, Digitalism is releasing a free track, “A New Drug,” for fans to get freaky with, and freak they will. You can definitely see the influence the live sets have had on the duo’s mindset, with their latest being a mighty fine example of the kind of rockish, discopunk energy you see when they’re going all out at a live show. Think New Wave as performed by bad-tripping robots, and you have the right idea.

Digitalism’s DJ-Kicks comes out on July 10 but in the meantime grab “A New Drug” below.
