Let’s say you are coming home from a big party, all of the usual suspects were there and one by one they played sounds that rearranged your molecules. Feels good, but now your ears cry out for something with more substance. Help is on the way! You can trust Amirali to revive your jaded ears.

Amirali’s In Time is another quality release from the Crosstown Rebels record label. “The rebel agency” is known for introducing us to delightfully different house music. Last year, they blessed us with gems like Maceo Plex’s Life Index and Art Department’s The Drawing Board.

On his debut album, multi-instrumentalist Amirali mixes electronic sounds with vocals, guitars, strings and percussion. He expertly arranges them to create an intricate and somber house sound with funkified beats and baselines fueling the groove. These tracks are versatile and could both bring depth and interest to a DJ set and please house music heads enjoying a quiet evening in.

Songs like “Just an Illusion”, “My Way” and “The Sounds of My Life” bring mystery to the dance floor. Imagine the soundtrack to a neo-noir film about an underground club in which everyone has a secret. Deliciously moody. Parts of the album turn atmospheric, such as the beatless opener “The Harmonious Song”.

“Beautiful World” was also released as a single in January 2012 and included some great remixes by Deniz Kurtel and others.
