After checking out their awesome remix of The Voyeurist’s “Chase(R)” earlier this week, I was excited to hear Vision of Trees’ new release, the Power Plants remix of “Turn 2U.” The disco-noir duo definitely do not disappoint with this one – it’s got haunting vocals, creepy synths, and percussions that ignite some sort of primal energy in me that’s probably best left repressed. Think dark new-wave, except with completely modern production and a really crisp sound. In other words, it’s the perfect track for an Elven rain dance in a lost forest to show the gods that, damnit, you’re angry too. It also keeps a nice energy throughout, and doesn’t fall into the trap of being slow and boring for the sake of sounding dark. Electronic music needs more tracks like this. Download it free here:
